I needed the rear hubs off due to a snapped handbrake cable!

#5: Re: Cant get my drums off Author: smccullie, Location: inverkeithingPosted: Thu Jan 27, 2011 10:14 am ---- Its like the drum is hitting of the shoes when i am trying to pull it off, are the shoes set in a lip in the drum
#6: Re: Cant get my drums off Author: mattievrs, Location: LeicesterPosted: Thu Jan 27, 2011 10:15 am ---- no lip but the shoes will be a tight fit.
#7: Re: Cant get my drums off Author: jeoff82, Location: Milton KeynesPosted: Thu Jan 27, 2011 10:40 am ---- The shoes will have worn a lip into the drum making them hard to remove. Flat bladed screwdriver either side to remove. Make sure you grind the lip off before you put them back on.

#12: Re: Cant get my drums off Author: stevedude, Location: aldershotPosted: Thu Jan 27, 2011 11:21 am ---- just looked in haynes, no hole lol
says use a plastic hammer to tap around it, making sure hand brake is off first.
it also states ya could slacken off hand brake cable "via adjusting bolt" so it will give more slack.
a hub extractor could do it too

my fault, i was thinking about other drums ive changed, some have a hole where you poke a screwdriver in to tighten/slacken shoes, but looking in haynes 206s dont
