Dead Speedo & Upgrading Wheels
-> 206 Problems

Hi all, I'm hoping someone can help me. I have a 2000 206, 2.0 HDI

My speedo has died, the odometer still works and so does all the other dials (although the fuel gage is quarter of a tank out) Ive read alot on the net and some say replace the speedo sensor from ontop of the gearbox. Others say its the clocks.

Can anyone shed any light as to weather or not this is a common fault and ideally are there any tests I can do to see which is at fault? I'm assuming this is the reason why my engine management light is on too.

I'm also looking at getting a set of 17inch alloys, although the offset is only 18, what spacers will i need as i have read the minimum offset for a 206 is 20?

Many thanks guys and girls.

1) id say speedo sensor. could be wrong

2) those wheels will stick out by 10mm, 206's have a recommended offset of 28. anything above that will require spacers (30,35, etc) anything below that will stick out further from the hub.

What He Said
That would make sense for the EML to be on too. Doubt it would come on if it was the dial!
