#1: engine management light on Author: kev85, Location: blackburnPosted: Fri Jan 28, 2011 11:46 am ---- hi. First off I know most people will tell me to get the codes read before anything and that is something i will be doing but just seeing if anybody could help.
got in my car this morning,started the engine and the car started to vibrate quite loud through the gearstick. the car also wouldn't idle correctly and it kept reving up to around 1.5-2k revs. this has been happening the last couple of days but not had a chance to get it in the garage.
anyway next thing the orange light came on the dash which i think is the engine management light ( right hand side of the dash as you look at it).
any ideas what it could be - car has not been serviced for a good 8k miles plus as dont know when the previous owner last did it.
Also is it safe to drive to the garage to get the fault tested - that is unless anybody has the equipment around the blackburn/bolton area who could come and do it for me for the money instead.

See if thats any better.
Then give it a good service.
