probably be the fanbelt {auxbelt} not the cambelt.
i had this a few times probably just needs fanbelt tighten up a bit , easy cheap job
if not mabey needs new fanbelt only £20 and any garage will fit one for cheap.

well as its spinnign its charging the alternator, so if you put wd40, i would assume it would then slip granted stopping the noise but not charging the battery properly

Have you checked your "tensor polley" ? (or pulley, not sure how to writte it in english) just change my accesory belt, because the last one was quite worn, but the squeaking noises continued in the morning start ups, specially with this rainy days, just checked the polley and found that the tensor one is about to die, you may need to check it too.

The WD40 on the drive belt is not so good, it´ll only do worst with the sound, you have to replace it, otherwise you can use "armor all" or "polish" (spray) but it won´t last.

Best Regards

Blimey, I forgot about this thread, anyway now I know that the 'timming' belt will start 'sweaking' when it is 'over tighten'.
Thanks fellas.
