Well my '99 206 1.4i LX (115k miles)has been off the road for 9 months now. Recently took it for an MOT more as a fact finding mission than anything else. It failed of course. It apparently overheated while they were doing the emissions test, although I think that was purely due to the fan not cutting in. Which wasn't an issue before i took it off the road.
There were plenty of other things it would have failed on so Im told although I keep looking at the list and Im not sure it would be such a difficult task to get it sorted but just can't make up my mind!
Issues that they have flagged up as far as I can tell :
Passenger seat does not lock in place
Headlights - Both provide 'No Beam Image'??
N/S/F lower ball joint x play
N/S/F lower arm rear bush x play
Both front Gaiter's insecure
Rear load sensing valve?
Centre of exhaust leaking gases
O/S/R Axle bush has x play (bearing)
N/S/R shock bush (lower) has slight play
Failed the emissions test also.
Now my dilemma is, do I attempt to get the work done? I would try an do as much as possible myself.
Do I just scrap it as it is?
Or take as much as I can off it to ebay.. then scrap the rest?!
Money is tight ish and really just trying to work out the best way to squeeze as much value out of the thing as i can!
Any input, suggestions, opinions or wild offers of cash would be appreciated!

if was mine id get it done ive had most things that can be thought of done,
depends how much you love your car or if you just wanna sell it and get another car.
Saying that it is 99 ' 1.4 petrol with 115k hard to say mabey better off getting something else.

If a garage was gonna do that lot it would be around £500 / £600 all in as they would throw another rear axle on most likely from a breakers yard.
Garage labour rate is what bumps up costs.

I keep thinking if I get the work done then obviously there might be a bit more value in selling it. I was thinking it would be about 500/600 for garage repair and thats what puts me off gettting it done - not sure if the cost of getting it done versus how much I would get for selling it would make it worthwhile.
On the flipside, I do think I can sort the majority of it out - only the Rear axle issue is one I'm not so sure about, an with it failing the emissions test I'm not too clear on how i would go about sorting it..

As for the rear axle, its basically only 4 bolts that hold it on to the car, you can pick them up cheap enough second hand.

I'll be on an off here over the next few days so bear with me.
Will have Chrome Angel eyes available, lexus rears, clear high level brake light.. have sony 6X9's in parcel shelf (stealth shelf kinda deal) well their covered an not on show.. an any standard stuff.
