idle control valve

not being thick but does a hdi have an idle control valve? because my needle on the rev counter moves up and down slightly when in netural and i have noticed that it goes up quickly for a second then comes back down

No, its ECU controlled.

The idle will flutter if things such as the AC is on.

I'd check the stepper motor mate.

no ac on, i put some redex in the diesel didnt make any difference

Shouldn't use redex, as once you use it, you need to keep using it. Should use premium fuel instead.

How much does it flutter up and down?

You recently had the battery off?
