To flush the radiator remove both hoses and take the radiator out and run a hose through it.
You know where the bleed points are when refilling?

you can bleed the system by a point in the heater matrix pipes, you can open it till all the air is out,and the coolant run smoothly, then close it,and close the cap of the expansion tank.

Stick a scoop / couple of tablets in & take the car for a drive to get it up to a decent working temp before you flush out the system.
Make sure its NON bio! ! !

I wouldn't stick any type of soap in there at all.
A proprietry cooling system cleaning fluid would be required, eg:
Its an old mechanics trick, does a brilliant job & perfectly safe as long as its NON bio

#11: Re: flushing coolant Author: giveitsomebar, Location: redditchPosted: Sat Feb 19, 2011 6:35 pm ---- hot, make sure the cap doesnt blow off though.. if it does then one of your dust caps off your tyres will fit perfectly!
#12: Re: flushing coolant Author: Rusky, Location: suffolkPosted: Sat Feb 19, 2011 6:56 pm ---- And what's with the washing powder is that a flush or what
#13: Re: flushing coolant Author: Rusky, Location: suffolkPosted: Sun Feb 20, 2011 4:50 am ---- do you keep the expansion tank lid off or is it a pressurized system
#14: Re: flushing coolant Author: MrBSI, Location: What's it to you? ? ?Posted: Sun Feb 20, 2011 6:15 am ----

It helps clean the crud out of the system.
Just remember it must be NON bio
Stick a scoop full / couple of tablets in & take it for a drive to get nice & hot first.
