#1: Car Revs itself and sometimes dies when accelerated Author: thomo2010, Location: NottinghamPosted: Mon Jan 31, 2011 1:13 pm ---- for the past few months my girlfriends 206 has gone crazy!! it started when moving in slow traffic and sometimes having to stop, the car would rev its self and then cut out if she was to try and accelerate..
now before every journey we have to wait in the car with the engine on for 10 minutes, where the car will radomly rev itself a few times, and then hope its over with when we decide to pull off.
shes taken it to her mechanic a few times whos checked the computers but theyve been fine, he did change the air flow meter wich improved the problem slightly, for a while..
last week we did think it was over as the car was fine but over the weekend the problem arose again, were not sure if the cold weather is to blame, it seems to be when its freezing cold its at its worse..
if anyone has had the same problem or knows how to fix this please reply
