some people say a brand new tentioned timing belt can put stress on a old waterpump

id agree with that.. especially if your paying abit of cash for it..
im a tight a**e, and didnt do mine when i did my cambelt as it looked ok and rotated smoothly.. However, i paid 12 quid for my cambelt, so im gonna take my chances.. Smile

Forgot to mention.

I've been shopping around for a garage to change the cambelt on my latest 206.

Been quoted £360 by one...

Parts alone from GSF are £108inc VAT

Get the waterpump done at the same time.

I've just had mine done, cambelt replaced, new water pump fitted too for £250 inc vat, garage charged £40 for pump, £80 for cambelt kit and £96 for labour
