back axel...dead pug

Had my hdi about 6mths
so far it has head skimmed, gasket fitted etc, timing belt and water pump fitted, wheel baring and now the rear axel needs replacing.

why through good money after bad
the cars being traded in or scraped

would i buy another...
never sadly , always wanted one

On the bright side though, what else could go wrong. Your not going to need to change you cambelt or water pump for another 70k, you've had the head gasket done etc. There's not much left mate.

Im in the same'ish frame of mind but having said that ive had mine for 3 or 4 years and im about to do the timing belt and water pump next week (normal wear and tear), im changing the comms 2000 unit AGAIN but this time a brand new one (common fault). Everything else are little jobs that have been wear and tear like top mounts, drop links and servicing.

To be honest you could change the rear axle, one with drums goes for around £75 and disc around £150, it's not even a big job, it's only 4 bolts that hold the rear axle on
