#1: Long locking wheel bolts?!?!?? Author: MrrNoName, Location: UKPosted: Sun Feb 06, 2011 6:25 am ---- hey all, my alloys require 10mm spacers to get the correct offset. purchased this and all is good:
however i cant find a set of 4 extended locking wheel bolts ANYWHERE?!
anybody got an idea of where i can get a set?
Thanks
#2: Re: Long locking wheel bolts?!?!?? Author: Whirly, Location: SheffieldPosted: Sun Feb 06, 2011 6:45 am ---- I think if you get 'alloy wheel' locking nuts they are longer than a normal bolt because they are for alloys, not 100% sure but I'm pretty sure that's the case

them guys do them, but if i was you i would of gone for a stud convertion it would be cheaper to get the locking wheel nut and easyer to put the wheels on too

I have them on mine, with 10mm spacers and are fine

#7: Re: Long locking wheel bolts?!?!?? Author: Whirly, Location: SheffieldPosted: Sun Feb 06, 2011 6:51 am ---- Ah it's cause I'm on my mobile I think, just eBay 206 alloy wheel bolts and it's the 2nd one down
#8: Re: Long locking wheel bolts?!?!?? Author: MrrNoName, Location: UKPosted: Sun Feb 06, 2011 6:53 am ---- think were looking at different things lol. got an ebay item number?
#9: Re: Long locking wheel bolts?!?!?? Author: Whirly, Location: SheffieldPosted: Sun Feb 06, 2011 6:54 am ---- 190492237662
They came with my alloys when I got them second hand, guy before me used them with 20mm spacers so I'm pretty sure they'll be fine
#10: Re: Long locking wheel bolts?!?!?? Author: MrrNoName, Location: UKPosted: Sun Feb 06, 2011 7:02 am ---- pretty sure they wont be long enough. the ones in the picture have 19 threads on them, they are only 25mm long. so if the dude used them with 20mm spacers his bolts would barely fit in the hub???? you must have longer ones dude. my bolts have 26 threads on them

like this a stud is better to put the wheels on and spacers
#12: Re: Long locking wheel bolts?!?!?? Author: MrrNoName, Location: UKPosted: Sun Feb 06, 2011 7:13 am ---- found that wolfrace do extended lock bolts, but they only do 40, 42, 46 and 50 mm. my bolts are 35mm
#13: Re: Long locking wheel bolts?!?!?? Author: MrrNoName, Location: UKPosted: Sun Feb 06, 2011 7:36 am ---- would it be a problem if I used longer lock bolts? say 40mm. would the bolt just come further out the other side or would it come up against something before its tight?
#14: Re: Long locking wheel bolts?!?!?? Author: Seabook, Posted: Sun Feb 06, 2011 8:30 am ---- don't use the locking nuts, problem solved

will that ever happen in these day?
or instead, get the stud comversion kit, buy 12 standard nuts and 4 lock nuts.

get the longer one and then grinder them down?
#19: Re: Long locking wheel bolts?!?!?? Author: MrrNoName, Location: UKPosted: Sun Feb 06, 2011 9:19 am ---- thought about that, but arnt they ment to be SUPER hard to stop people socketing them or whatever?
also does anyone know the bolt length of standard pug alloys?

Your bolts are 35mm????
they are standard length bolts then, not 10mm extended bolts

30mm thread length Last edited by Seabook on Sun Feb 06, 2011 9:27 am; edited 1 time in total
#22: Re: Long locking wheel bolts?!?!?? Author: PugJH, Location: NorthantsPosted: Sun Feb 06, 2011 9:21 am ---- go on mcgard website, search peugeot, 206, alloy, they come up with 35mm, search peugeot 206 steel they come up with 25mm...............
#23: Re: Long locking wheel bolts?!?!?? Author: MrrNoName, Location: UKPosted: Sun Feb 06, 2011 9:25 am ---- ok now im really confuzed. my extended bolts are 35mm. people are saying standard bolts are 20mm, 25mm, 35mm and 40mm
WTF lol
#24: Re: Long locking wheel bolts?!?!?? Author: PugJH, Location: NorthantsPosted: Sun Feb 06, 2011 9:27 am ---- standard steel wheel bolts are 25mm seated, standard alloy bolts are 35mm flat, sometimes seated tho.
i have longer bolts on mine as i have 205 alloys, think mine are 40mm flat.
I sold my 35 seated to Brian or G. cant member
#25: Re: Long locking wheel bolts?!?!?? Author: MrrNoName, Location: UKPosted: Sun Feb 06, 2011 9:28 am ---- my alloys need seated bolts and 10mm spacers
brought a kit off of a member on here, came with 16 35mm bolts and 4 10mm spacers, he said the bolts were extended. your saying they are standard?
#26: Re: Long locking wheel bolts?!?!?? Author: Seabook, Posted: Sun Feb 06, 2011 9:30 am ---- my fault, read the measurement wrong, my old bolts has 30mm thread
however i am pretty sure Lee said it before, standard 206 bolts are M12x12.5, 38mm thread
#27: Re: Long locking wheel bolts?!?!?? Author: MrrNoName, Location: UKPosted: Sun Feb 06, 2011 9:32 am ---- so my bolts are way too short then?
now standard bolts are 38mm not 35? lol
urgh why isnt anything ever simple
#28: Re: Long locking wheel bolts?!?!?? Author: PugJH, Location: NorthantsPosted: Sun Feb 06, 2011 9:35 am ---- yeah standard alloys for peugeot 35/38mm. which means you need 45mm bolts if you have 10mm spacers
#29: Re: Long locking wheel bolts?!?!?? Author: MrrNoName, Location: UKPosted: Sun Feb 06, 2011 9:41 am ---- urgh, my bolts are too short then, kersh said they were extended specifically for the 10mm spacers when he sold em to me
EDIT: wait a minute.. if standard pug alloy wheel bolts are 35-38mm why are all the pug alloy wheel locking nuts for sale on ebay 25-28mm???
your saying those two listings are incorrect and the bolts wouldnt fit? how are people allowed to list things like that ?!?
#30: Re: Long locking wheel bolts?!?!?? Author: Seabook, Posted: Sun Feb 06, 2011 9:47 am ---- to be fair i use the 30mm thread bolts for over 2 years and the wheel hasn't fall off on the road
#31: Re: Long locking wheel bolts?!?!?? Author: MrrNoName, Location: UKPosted: Sun Feb 06, 2011 9:54 am ---- the guy i brought them from said 35mm were extended bolts.
PugJH says that for 10mm spacers 45mm bolts are needed
how can nobody be sure about such an important thing? seems everyone is just making it up lol
EDIT: wheelfittingsolutions.co.uk state that standard pug 206 wheel bolts are this:
Thread - M12 x 1.25
Hex 19 mm
Thread Length 28mm
is it possible you could be wrong PugJH?
#32: Re: Long locking wheel bolts?!?!?? Author: MrrNoName, Location: UKPosted: Sun Feb 06, 2011 10:06 am ---- Here are the standard wolfrace ones for a 206 on ebay with 25mm thread cgi.ebay.co.uk/4-alloy...3a5e0c0be6
so 35mm must be extended??
anyone else shed any light on this?
#33: Re: Long locking wheel bolts?!?!?? Author: Seabook, Posted: Sun Feb 06, 2011 10:07 am ---- wait, you got taper seat or flat seat?
#34: Re: Long locking wheel bolts?!?!?? Author: MrrNoName, Location: UKPosted: Sun Feb 06, 2011 10:08 am ---- taper, the ones in the pic but 35mm instead of 25mm
#35: Re: Long locking wheel bolts?!?!?? Author: Seabook, Posted: Sun Feb 06, 2011 10:10 am ---- taper bolts will have short thread than flat bolts
#36: Re: Long locking wheel bolts?!?!?? Author: MrrNoName, Location: UKPosted: Sun Feb 06, 2011 10:11 am ---- lol yeh, all i wanna know is if tapered bolts with a 35mm thread are suitable for alloy wheels that need 10mm spacers
#37: Re: Long locking wheel bolts?!?!?? Author: PugJH, Location: NorthantsPosted: Sun Feb 06, 2011 10:41 am ----
Think about the reason you have 10mm spacers. Whats the et. im guessing 35.
EDIT:
Im unsure about the reason behind the 3mm difference that makes some say 38 and some 35 Last edited by PugJH on Sun Feb 06, 2011 10:44 am; edited 1 time in total

Seabook wrote:

how is that? SHAFT length = bottom of taper, or bottom of flat. so if it says 35mm shank then they are the same :S
seated just means that the alloys have a 60degree slot for the bolts to fit into, flat means the alloys have a flat section for the bolts to fit into Last edited by PugJH on Sun Feb 06, 2011 10:57 am; edited 1 time in total
#39: Re: Long locking wheel bolts?!?!?? Author: MrrNoName, Location: UKPosted: Sun Feb 06, 2011 10:46 am ---- 48mm bolts seem really long when everywhere is advertising standard pug alloy bolts as being 28mm
#40: Re: Long locking wheel bolts?!?!?? Author: PugJH, Location: NorthantsPosted: Sun Feb 06, 2011 10:50 am ---- mcgard website says 35mm for alloys.
So just go with that then.
Fit one and see what happens, simpliest answer

"wheel comes off doing 70" lol
EDIT: would you link me to where it says that on the site, i cant find it
#42: Re: Long locking wheel bolts?!?!?? Author: PugJH, Location: NorthantsPosted: Sun Feb 06, 2011 10:55 am ---- You cant link as its php.
the above link is for taper lock nuts on a 206 and is 10mm shorter
#44: Re: Long locking wheel bolts?!?!?? Author: PugJH, Location: NorthantsPosted: Sun Feb 06, 2011 11:01 am ---- link dont work to that site.
I know what you mean, your question in my eyes meant the shaft length, i just meant if it says 35 it means 35 from bottom, but i get you now
#45: Re: Long locking wheel bolts?!?!?? Author: MrrNoName, Location: UKPosted: Sun Feb 06, 2011 11:24 am ---- so i now know when using 10mm spacers for wolfrace alloys you need tapered bolts LONGER than 35mm lol
do i want 10mm spacers with 45mm bolts?
or 10mm spacers with 50mm bolts?
#46: Re: Long locking wheel bolts?!?!?? Author: Seabook, Posted: Sun Feb 06, 2011 11:37 am ---- no you need 35mm taper bolts. standard ta[er bolts is 25mm
use PugJH that website, choose the alloy manufactorer and then choose 206 fitment.
#47: Re: Long locking wheel bolts?!?!?? Author: MrrNoName, Location: UKPosted: Sun Feb 06, 2011 11:47 am ---- lol huh, at the moment the bolts i have in my hand are
tapered, with a 60 degree angle. and have a 35mm thread length
they give me approx 16mm INSIDE the hub. 14mm is taken up by the wheel and spacer. i thought they were too short lol
EDIT: i understand what your saying, standard fitment is 25mm tapered or 35mm flat, so with 10mm spacers 35mm tapered should work
but i dont know if this is correct. it might be that its 35mm because the alloys thicker. and the fact that its flat is irrelevant. if this is the case 35mm tapered would be too short for me with the 10mm spacers
#48: Re: Long locking wheel bolts?!?!?? Author: Seabook, Posted: Sun Feb 06, 2011 11:58 am ---- the hubs won't take more than 15mm thread.

Seabook wrote:

good call. this true? doesnt seem very much
surely that cannot be correct because even with 25mm bolts and steelies, about 20mm would be in the hub. steelies arnt very thick about 5mm maybe
#50: Re: Long locking wheel bolts?!?!?? Author: MrrNoName, Location: UKPosted: Sun Feb 06, 2011 12:42 pm ---- anyone else got any input on what length bolts i need lol
#51: Re: Long locking wheel bolts?!?!?? Author: Harry, Location: StaffordPosted: Sun Feb 06, 2011 1:58 pm ---- May be a bit late, but I bought mine off gavstar with 20mm spacers and he looked into locking bolts but he would have had to have them made up specially and would have cost so much it just wasn't worth it.

i am running pug sport wheel stud at the moment and they only have 15mm thread on the hubs side.
#53: Re: Long locking wheel bolts?!?!?? Author: MrrNoName, Location: UKPosted: Mon Feb 07, 2011 9:53 am ---- just been out there and checked physically myself
original steel wheel bolts screw in 11 rotations
new extended alloy wheel bolts with spacers on + new wheel screw in 12 rotations
35mm is correct for 10mm spacers with tapered bolts
the new bolts screw in exactly the same distance as the old ones! a bit further if anything!
seabook, you were correct throughout this lol
