#4: Re: Dramatic MOT fail! What to do?? Author: Big_Rich180, Posted: Mon Feb 07, 2011 8:24 am ---- Thats not the bad of a fail to be fair, i certainly wouldnt be asking if i should scrap or not because of those pretty small problems, the cat would be the only one that would worry me on cost.
#5: Re: Dramatic MOT fail! What to do?? Author: Harry, Location: StaffordPosted: Mon Feb 07, 2011 8:28 am ---- Unless it was a small engine on 150k miles it doesn't sound look too bad to scrap it. Use your judgement and how you think the car is as a whole definately don't just do it based on the MOT

MAJOR FAIL= 2 bulbs a ball joint and a cat!
Just this weekend someone traded their 206 in for just £500 because they couldnt be bothered to replace the rear axel! Talk about false economy

Exactly my thoughts
You could fix that for just shy of a 100quid yourself, that's only 1.5 tanks of fuel

Expensive fuel you pay then....
That would be about 1.8 for me
I would only tade my car in if the work that needed doing was worth more then the car its self.

In my case i have spent and am still spending on my car because the car returns more saving repairing it that if i where to scrap it and buy another second hand one with no personal history.
#13: Re: Dramatic MOT fail! What to do?? Author: Addaz, Location: SuffolkPosted: Mon Feb 07, 2011 10:06 am ---- To put this into perception
To fix your car, it would cost LESS than one of my main amplifiers

#15: Re: Dramatic MOT fail! What to do?? Author: Lee, Location: EnglandPosted: Mon Feb 07, 2011 12:03 pm ---- I'll take the car off you and give you scrap value.
