#1: My 206 T16 (inc. WIP loads of pics inside - very pic heavy) Author: C4RLO5, Location: Cumbria PostPosted: Thu Feb 25, 2010 2:44 pm
    ----
Well heres my 206, WIP and other s**t lol

Bought it as a damage repairable off my brother-in-law, once i sorted out the problems it ended up like this[/b]

Then after going to shows with my mate mark (drives a light blue scooby) i decided that fcuk it, its gettin changed alot

Then it was finished, and was lucky enough to get onto ITV4s 'usedcar roadshow'

Then i began on the interior and got hold of GTI180 interior

Then had a 'Little' accident with a f******g pothole that wrecked my car, fcuked 2 wheels and all the side had to be resmoothed in. As i could get my wheels i managed to get a silver one so sprayed it and decided to get the lips colour coded, which i wanted to do when the car was first done but wanted it back soon.

then at Donny

Then mark built me some custom door cards as i didnt want esquis ones like every ecosse 206

And as u noticed, i got the whole interior retrimmed in cream leather and blue alcantara

Then decided to have a bash at finishing the interior with mark ourselves

also made a custom a piller gauge pod and trimmed the roof lining, a, b and c pillers and sun visors etc

So the car got driven alot and reached 132k miles so after having a few drinks on night me n mark ( hes a bad influence on me ) we joked about putting a T16 engine in the 206 so a few days later i rang a few companies then after the price that Pug Performace gave me was goot it was booked to go in and taken for the conversion

It took alot longer than first thought but the conversion was a b*****d!!!

So bigger brakes, gti6 front and gti180 rear beam disk conversion

Old 'massive' 1.6 engine

New rare 405 T16 engine

Old engine in Laughing

so heres empty engine bay

New engine in Very Happy

Heres some pics of it when it came back ( the scooby in last pic is marks, most of yas will have seen it)

so i thought time for a little change so ew wheels were bought, some might like, some may say olds better which i understand but everyone has done the colour coded lips now n i think the new wheels give it a new look. (soz about the pics)

Here are the most recent pics

Well you'l be happy to know thats it, sorry if i bored ya, its actually bored me doing it, wat a long process lol

Comments welcome as always, good and bad(ish) lol

Thanks for looking, Carlos.

Not exactly to my taste but very well done looks impressive...

Retrimming of the 180s was brave lol but worked a treat! Wink

Only thing i'd do is put old alloys back on and swap lexus' for some LED's

What bhp is it putting out an is there much lag?

Would be cool if you dressed the engine up to show off the engine alot more

thanks for all the comment guys, aprresiate it

ill try answer the questions but if i dont, PM me

The interior cost Ā£1k to retrim which wasnt bad but there's a few little bits i may get sorted, all the other retrimming is being done by me and my mate.

I still have the old wheels but wanted a change n i love new wheels.

I wanted it kitted but not ott n still drivable.

The engine will be running in the region of 270bhp BUT until i get the rollin road print out im claiming nothing.

The car atm isnt finished, the interior needs finished, engine tidied up etc etc

Do love p**sing people off when they see the car chattering down the round lol (T16 FTMFW)

well ill shut up n ill keep use posted with any new mods etc and like i said, if u want any info etc PM me

Thanks, carlos

Leave them wheels on, i am sick and tired of 'rimmed' wheels now.
i see a set of black with silver lipped alloys earlier, sparked a whole 'GOD I HATE THEM' in my head, so tbh, i much prefer the flat ones.

270 is a good figure, what's the engine had done to it to get it that high? Mine's 230bhp and 234lb ft at the moment, but come the end of April I'll not be far off 300bhp and 350lb ft (ish) Laughing

Well as far as im aware the engine is just standard, with filter, full straight through exhaust and a remap

Im saying 270ish as colin done a T16 in a 205 before mine and thats what the power was

The T16 engine has an over boost which is of for 30secs or so, so thats the full power but i think on normal boost, be about 240

Like a said, im new to it so until its RR'd ill keep guessing but trust me, when its done ill let yas all know. The torque is f******g emense

Pug Performance did the work and soursed the engine from me, was a wrecked 405 with 33k on the clock

the conversion was an absolute B*****D to do, the engine is not made to sit in the 206 engine bay, so much work was involved in doing it!!!!

I remember when i first seen this car i wasn't a fan but i'm really liking it now. The Kit isn't quite as mad as i remember - it's grown on me.

Plus it's got a not bad engine in it...i'd love one for the miami 309 Sad I know of a guy who is aiming for 350bhp T16 in a 205. Currently around 250 or something.

cost alot in the end mate lol, i got it done at pugperformance but you'l be lucky to get one, colin said he wouldnt do another, pug1off didnt want to do it n well your best bet would be ecosse but gota have deeeeep pockets as the engine alone isnt cheap.

thanks

By the prices i have seen of the t16 engine,

wouldnt it of been cheaper to but a gti engine and turbo it ?

not that i would change your can i think its great and different .

how much was the conversion alone ?

yeah i agree it is a better conversion,

not seen another 206 t16, i was talking about the price of the t16 engine alone !! do i quick search they cost a fair bit !

Edited,

link to a cheap one 3100 ! !http://www.306gti6.com/forum/showthread.php?id=68452&page=1

the engine alone rebuilt cost around 4k mate

i could have done that but well like brian said, i wanted to be the first n well the t16 engine is highly tunable!!!

a gti turbo would have been loads easier as the t16 wasnt designed to go in a 206 engine bay!!!

100% agree with you just saying thats all, if you had the cash why not i say !

the reason the engine cost so much is that its the same engine they used in this!, Just de-tuned for the road going version. commons.wikimedia.org/..._Peak.jpg.

any one else thinking of buying a t16 make sure it is a real one , some people try pass on the 306gti with a turbo on as the t16 !

Ive seen 2 gti turbos being passed off as t16s lol, i know mine is a cert which is good lol.

Colin who did the conversion has a t16 at 500bhp+ so i may strip the pug n aim for that at the end of the year lol

Mate that is a sick sick little beast.

I have the same colour as yours! But it's a derived van, so I'm going to be a bit different!

Any chance you'd let your lipped alloys go?

Need a new set.

Cheers Carlos!

i have looked at the t16 in a bit of detail over the years and have read loads of stul saying with little mods the can sit at 300bhp easy with standard internals ,

Mate that is a sick sick little beast.

I have the same colour as yours! But it's a derived van, so I'm going to be a bit different!

Any chance you'd let your lipped alloys go?

Need a new set.

Cheers Carlos!

the engine alone rebuilt cost around 4k mate

i could have done that but well like brian said, i wanted to be the first n well the t16 engine is highly tunable!!!

a gti turbo would have been loads easier as the t16 wasnt designed to go in a 206 engine bay!!!

Colin who did the conversion has a t16 at 500bhp+ so i may strip the pug n aim for that at the end of the year lol

i have looked at the t16 in a bit of detail over the years and have read loads of stul saying with little mods the can sit at 300bhp easy with standard internals ,

I cant believe they didnt carry on making it, is it right they used the T16 block in the 206 wrc cars???

i love the engine, done ever want to get rid lol

Probably one of the best engines they have made,

not too sure about the 206 wrc it may well be ? ill have a read up on it ,

could be the same for the 207 2000 too,

what i would do next if i was you is do a 4wd conversion , i have see a 206 gti round my end a few years ago running a cosworth (escort) engine and 4wd system ,

maybe you could get one from the 405 t16 as i think they were 4x4

The T16 was used in neither the 206 or 207, there is 4x4 running gear out there as it was used on the WRC cars however it won't be cheap.
