#1: Rolling Road Day Mapping 2.0 HDi Author: MFACTOR001, Location: sheffieldPosted: Mon Feb 07, 2011 8:12 pm ---- Well i must say i was very dissapointed!
I have spent alot of time and effort getting the car ready for the rr on friday and I had my mappers alter my map ready for rr.
Results were that it was running very nice but it just needed a little more boost. Friday after the map was altered i noticed it was very easy to drive at 30/40 but other than that didn't notice anything as the traffic was heavy and the kids were in the car.
On Saturday morning there was no poke, and on the motorway there was definately less poke but i ran it anyway as wanted to know how badly they had f-er-messed it up. So i had it on a dyno to get the printout to confront them and here it is lol
As you can probably see from the results, i was not happy at all, infact i left immediatly for the mappers! (who shall for now remain unnamed but we will just call them the diesel specialist in sheffield).
Can anyone explain why a car with over 150bhp can be reduced to less than standard bhp when all you wanted was a boost increase ????.
Modification List:
Intercooler
Fast Flow Exhaust
Induction Kit
De-cat
De-egr
De-air dozer
Fast road/racing clutch
....and probably more besides lol.
The mappers tried giving me all sorts of excuses: it must be a fault with the car rather than the map, our first mapper has left and we now use a new mapper lmfao.
But they had no real answers. My car had been wheel-spinning in gears 1/2/3 and blowing hoses but there's none of that now.
Anyway i gave them the dyno results and un-suprisingly they didn't have to much to say on that!! lol
I have given them the opportunity to rectify the mistake and they have now put on another map which is apparently as much as they can push it!
It is an improvement and is fast yes, but it still doesn't seem as there is as much power as before and I'm still struggling to spin in 2nd in the rain so there's clearly no improvement on the way they got it before.
They have offered me a refund if i am not happy, which I am not up to now! But will take it for a propper run and see if i can see what they have done.
What gets me is that the first map was by them, which had excellent power delivery and handled all the later mods well at 1.2 bar of pressure.
After that we had it altered to 0.9 bar, but now it's at 1 bar.
Sad.
Sorry to have a rant but it just had to be done.
If no ammicable solution is reached i will gladly name and shame the mappers but for any local sheffield pm me for details.
And just to top my day off the straps on the rr have taken the paint off my side skirts!

hook it up to pp2000 to check the rail pressure, if they are fine i bet is your turbo blown
with 108 at fly i don't think you even need a remap if you have an intercooler+altering the boost.

Then I noticed "I make no appolagies for spelling punctuation" in your sig, so.. I'm not going to bother.

#5: Re: ROALING ROAD DAY MAPPING ERROR KILLS 2.0 HDI HOW NOT TO !!!! Author: Seb, Location: Under your bedPosted: Tue Feb 08, 2011 2:08 am ---- I'm slightly confused as to what you're after here?
Firstly, your post was incredibly hard to read, I had to strain myself to get through it. Secondly, are you also that blind that you're completely missing the massive feck off writing at the top of each readout which tells you the name of the place it was done?
Also - unless I'm reading the graph wrong - there's is not one point across the whole graph at which your bhp after was less than your bhp before the map? Unless they are both the same readout, which could be quite true, and in which case you should rethink your argument. The first one shows bhp at the WHEELS, the second is at the fly - therefore your peak bhp at the fly is 108.6HP, of which the standard for your car I think is 90? That is a 31% percent increase in power output. You have nearly 200 lb-ft of torque.
intercooler
fast flow exhaust
induction kit
de cat
de egr
de air dozer
fast rd/race clutch
probably mor lol.
The only mod in that list which will ever help you get any more torque out of your car is the intercooler, and only by making the air cooler so you can push it harder. The rest are completely useless on a diesel.
P.S. Please take some time writing your posts and do not create post titles in ALL CAPITAL LETTERS

Aha I see. Doesn't seem to look like there's much wrong with the car though from the looks of the readouts.

he change the map before rr, so it still could be the map problem

the shape of the curve just looks like mine, peak torque at a round 2500rpm and peak power around 3000-4000rpm
but that spike on the curve do looks a bit wrong Last edited by Seabook on Tue Feb 08, 2011 3:10 am; edited 1 time in total

He has a map before.. got 150bhp? Got another map.. now gets 89bhp... Im confused...
Am i wrong?

apparently the first "150bph" map should be estimated. and now the 89hp is at wheel, at fly is 108bhp
#13: Re: Rolling Road Day Mapping 2.0 HDi Author: Jay794, Location: Sheffield/Chesterfield/DronfieldPosted: Tue Feb 08, 2011 3:15 am ---- With all those mods, especially a remap, intercooler and a decat, I would expect at least 140bhp as you can go from 90 to 11-120bhp just with a decent remap, after 120 you need an intercooler and some other bits. Those RR results are surprising
#14: Re: Rolling Road Day Mapping 2.0 HDi Author: Quarmbo, Location: Bristol & LeicesterPosted: Tue Feb 08, 2011 3:23 am ---- Hmmm, interesting. I'd get a refund, check all your turbo and pipes etc, and then get it mapped elsewhere. I've heard RS tuning in Leeds are good?
