Hi all im replacing my head gasket on the above engine and have been following the haynes manual to drain coolant system, i have drained all but the engine block.

Now i have the head ready to go back on and im wondering if there is a drain plug on the engine block in order to drain the remaining coolant in the block. Having read the haynes manual it says to flush the engine block you put a garden hose in the coolant housing on the side of the cylinder head and disconnect the bottom radiator hose and flush untill clear water comes out the bottom hose. But as i have the cylinder head off i am ideally wanting to drain it whilst it is off so i can ensure that all the gunk and old coolant is cleared out the block.

Is this possible or is the only way to reassemble and do as the haynes manual says? Ideally i want to do it without disturbing any seals/gaskets.

Sorry for the long winded question but any help and advice is greatfully received.

Can anyone shed any light on this?
