Hi! I'm having problems with my heater fan. Suddenly it stops blowing, and i have to turn the ignition on of a couple of times before it starts again.
Anyone know what the problem can be?

Sorry for my bad english.

Heater blower motor packing up or dodgy control switch

It will be the fan. They seem to fail regularly so it's best to just buy a new one.

Yes I bought one. Considering how often they are failing it would be a false economy buying a 2nd hand one. £109 from AEP Direct.

Used to happen a lot on the 205. It was a fault on the circuit board which the switch was fastened too. It was a simple job to fix once traced the problem.

I'm still having this problem. When it does happen i just gived the dashboard a couple of hits and the fan comes on again. Checked the wires on the fan and they seem fine. Where is the circuit board and how did you fix it macca?

On the 205 the fault was one of the capacitors on the circuit board that the switch was fastened to.
Definately sounds like a bad connection somewhere if it comes on with a couple of hits. I would suggest buying new switch unit and blower, but at those prices wouldn't be worth it unless you were 100% sure that it was faulty.
p.s. I finally stopped mine making the noise by taking the blower apart and greasing where the fan spindle sits.

Is this switch unit on the blower?

On the dashboard. The switch that you use to control the speed of the fan. Does it stop working on all speeds or just one?

aha! The fan stops working on all speeds. So this must mean its not the switch right?
