Matt - best idea is to pop into Kwikfit, Tyreservices, or Motorway Tyres (etc) to ask for a quote (won't cost you anything).

One was completely snapped and digging into the tyre, the other was an MOT failure for being fractured. Local garage fixed mine on my drive for around £50 (parts & labour), bargain. Most would advise to replace both sides at the same time which I guess is good practice for suspension related parts.
