#1: Is it safe too drive with a noisy wheel bearing? Author: pudmonkey, Location: EdinburghPosted: Wed Feb 09, 2011 2:10 am ---- As per the title, drivers side bearing is howling, getting it fixed on Monday afternoon but still need to drive to and from work (20 miles each way) for the rest of the week. Noise has been getting steadily worse over the last week and i dont want to run the risk of the whole hub getting damaged.

Its not safe because the pressure of driving is on the wheel at unusual angle, so if you keep going your wear will be uneven. All it takes is a pot hole and boom, its even worse

If it completely goes then you could do alot more damage and cost more to fix it.
