hi i have a 1.1 2000 plate 206 and i was wondering what people think about putting after market airfilters on maybe something from halfords or somewhere like that ....

Avoid Halfords 'performance' parts.
You can get things much cheaper online and better quality.
K&N, Green Cotton & Pipercross are a few decent brands.

most people will say don't bother for a 1.1 lol but go on ebay there some nice ones on there for cheap Smile

If your after some sort of performance gain, forget it. If you want the chav induction sound of all show no go, go for it.

would i need any perticular type of airfilter or will any one fit ? and until i get an exhaust i just want it to sound a bit better with out making my insurance go higher lol ...

Well you exhaust and a filter will need to be declared to you insurance so it will go up regardless.

Just stick a pannel filter in

Well you exhaust and a filter will need to be declared to you insurance so it will go up regardless.

Panel filter all the way.

Induction kit is going to nothing to the car apart from increasing you MPG, which for a 1.1 is the last thing you want to do with the price of petrol these days.

oh cool Very Happy i take it that i just buy this panel filter and open the box and swap with the exsiting one ? and whats the diffrence between the two then ... do they both do the same sorta job ? *sorry for all the questions im new to all this moding :D*
