My first car project

#1: My first car project Author: Pearcy, Location: Bolton PostPosted: Thu Feb 25, 2010 7:37 pm

My dad deals in salvage so i got a nice 26,000 52 reg 1.4 8v quicksilver, is mint inside and out.

I've currently got 16" nimrods for it, spoiler, most of the parts bar front bumper and passenger wing, just fitted some later style rear lights too.

Plans:

Lower
colour code
refurb the nimmy's in either white, dayglo orange or graphite (not sure yet)
Get a nicely sized back box
maybe shove a 1/6 16v lump in there i can get for free (don't know if this will be hard or not though?)
spacers
black roof lining and black pillars.

Think thats about it for now, will get some more pics when it's more complete.

Oh and my new lights, moved the boot catch a little bit to make them more flush but going to put some spacers on the bolt that holds the lights to bring it out a bit more and bring the gap down a little because im not happy about it atm.

Looks like a good wee project there Smile . Cant help but notice you said its mint inside and out? It might be my eyesight, but the front end looks like it could do with a little attention Laughing

Not keen on the orange proposals. Think antix has orange wheels and it's not great with silver.... blue car would be better results. Graphite or anthracite would look nice I reckon. Not sure on engine transplant but sure someone will help soon

Looks better in the light but yeah converted all the lights to ph2, flared wings, nimrods, spoiler, honeycombe grill, and colour code. Thanks for comments really chuffed with it and it's super clean.

hmmm cgi.ebay.co.uk/16-Silv...3cb1975b10

opinions? Smile

Actually just seen them on a car and ney like! Wish they didn't go out in the middle or they'd be pretty perfect. Anyone know any similar wheels that sit flat with the dish and don't pertrude outwards?

Little update, got a full set of nimrods on it now, new backbox and just had it lowered by cartoon head in middleton, great guy who came back out to raise it a bit at the back the day after for me. Some pics.

Plans are:

New tyres all round
New headlight to match the newer one!
gloss black wing mirrors
ph2 bootstrip and debadge
Refurb the nimrods in graphite and either get some spacers or 406 nimrods
Maybe a few engine tweaks Wink

Nice panel gaps where the wings meet the sills!

Yes, i've tried pushing it in but it's solid, i think the wings were bought from euro car parts or a similar company so not sure if they're genuine as the middle of the door isn't quite flush with the wing either... I'm just going to leave it, not worth me putting more money into buying new wings.
