#3: Re: Servicing the 206 - What Parts Author: A18NHH, Location: MiddlesbroughPosted: Sat Feb 12, 2011 3:31 pm ---- Air filter is already K&N, sorry i forgot to mention that so just cleaning it
#4: Re: Servicing the 206 - What Parts Author: Mrs_Howey, Location: WorthingPosted: Sat Feb 12, 2011 3:44 pm ---- 10w40 oil mobil is what me and howey use and it's really good
Bosch super 4 spark plugs
Most likely won't need a fuel filter as they are in the fuel tank and don't need to be changed
Don't forget get the sump plug as well as the washer.
#5: Re: Servicing the 206 - What Parts Author: roberto.f, Location: Coventry/ManchesterPosted: Sat Feb 12, 2011 3:59 pm ---- Are you not supposed to use 5w40 oil in a GTi?.
You don't have to replace the sump plug, as long as you don't damage it when you remove it.
Good shout on the Bosch Super 4's, I can vouch for these.
#6: Re: Servicing the 206 - What Parts Author: A18NHH, Location: MiddlesbroughPosted: Sat Feb 12, 2011 4:04 pm ---- I'd be interested to know what oil i should use - don't want to use the wrong thing
#7: Re: Servicing the 206 - What Parts Author: Mrs_Howey, Location: WorthingPosted: Sat Feb 12, 2011 4:06 pm ---- Well it depends on the mileage of the car, the higher the mileage the thicker the oil (such as 10w40) should be because of engine wear, and therefore need the thicker oil.
If it's low mileage the thinner 5w40 will be better
#8: Re: Servicing the 206 - What Parts Author: Seabook, Posted: Sat Feb 12, 2011 4:08 pm ---- 10w/40 and 5w/40 has the same thickness when warm up....

90% of engine wear occurs before the engine is up to temperature, so thicker oil is going to better for worn engines
#10: Re: Servicing the 206 - What Parts Author: A18NHH, Location: MiddlesbroughPosted: Sat Feb 12, 2011 4:16 pm ---- mileage is about 80,000 at the minute

or thinner oil to give faster oil circulation to prevent start-up wear?
not mean to mess around but it seems that every people said different thing when come down to the choice of engine oil
#13: Re: Servicing the 206 - What Parts Author: A18NHH, Location: MiddlesbroughPosted: Sat Feb 12, 2011 4:26 pm ---- lol - i'll buy the oil last then and try and find out a little bit more

#24: Re: Servicing the 206 - What Parts Author: roberto.f, Location: Coventry/ManchesterPosted: Sat Feb 12, 2011 4:53 pm ---- Yep. Some will say iridium (NGK/Denso), and some will say Bosch Super 4s. Depends what you're looking for. I'd say go for it.
#25: Re: Servicing the 206 - What Parts Author: drunknmunky, Location: Blackburn and CatterickPosted: Sat Feb 12, 2011 4:54 pm ---- I would say bosch super 4 as people have had coilpack problems with ngk and other brands
