A ram air intake will make the fuel run lean and slowly damage the engine

surely the ecu would correct any fuel differences? thats the point in fitting one?

What He Said

The ecu is more then smart enough to work out how much air is going in to the engine & to adjust the fuel mixture correctly.

the 206 gti is no fuel guzzler. my last car 2.5v6 managed 12 miles to the gallon and was crippling me. then ive just purchased the 206 gti and i filled up with £20 and thats lasted me a week now with school runs and what not. i think you need to lay off the right pedal abit mate, have fun drive it smoothly and use the power when needed.

On light throttle or cruise the lambda sensor runs the engine so it will change the fuelling as required.
On acceleration or full throttle it uses the mapping which if not adjusted by a remap it won't be an ideal set up.

i get about 200miles to a tank round town and 400miles to a tank on the motorway

as for induction y does everyone slate the kits and say get a pannel filter whats the point in a panel filter might as well not bother changing it at all imo

i have a viper induction kit and would recomend one little increase in throttle response and nice induction roar at about 2.5k revs

Hi there, bought a great looking 206 gti yesterday and in the space of 90 miles, its used just over 1/4 of a tank, is there a problem here or is the GTi just a natural fuel guzzler?

... the clue is in your name Wink

Haha lol :P, i was just driving it home sensibly to get a feel for the caer and was actually suprised at the fuel consumption lol. Razz
