#11: Re: The 'boyracer's GTi. Author: sam-c, Location: Uni: Kent Home: ScunthorpePosted: Mon Feb 14, 2011 9:34 am ---- if it was my car:
lower
graphite/anthracte wheels and side strips and possible front and read bump strips (or maybe cc those)
graphite/anthracite moretes
graphite/anthracite mirrors possibly
change the rear lights
change the exhaust fo something like a 1.5/2 inch dual backbox/full system
maybe graphite/anthracite exhaust trim
maybe debadge
gti 180 interior
a nice sound system - by that i mean a simple front comp replacement(amped) and a single 10 or 12" sub in the boot maybe with some coaxials in the rear running off the headunit for rear fill when having passengers
then that would be job done for me
#12: Re: The 'boyracer's GTi. Author: NICKST, Location: Little hulton (worsley)Posted: Mon Feb 14, 2011 10:07 am ---- Nice starting point colour code it lower it and a nice exhaust system will look alot better.

#23: Re: The 'boyracer's GTi. Author: Lee, Location: EnglandPosted: Mon Feb 14, 2011 1:40 pm ---- Why you bought a GTi if your 15?
Gunna be expensive to insure when you turn 17

I've got to agree with Lee here, maybe a Gti wasnt the best choice of cars if your only 15, you will get raped by the insurance company's when you can insure it.
Still it does look like a nice car, but treat it right otherwise it will break.

I shall explain my logic. The plan is to buy a few cars before im 17 that need a little bit of work on them to return them to they're proper value, then sell them on once i have finished with them. At the moment im a mechanic in training with peugeot, so i thought a 206 GTi has alot of value in it, ill buy this one and sell it on for a profit later. Smashing

Before this i did have a 1997 Preg Audi A4 that needed alot of work doing on it, bought for £255, fixed it up, sold it on for £550, Deducting parts i made about £150-200 profit. I bought this 206 GTi because it was unbelievably cheap and suprisingly there's little wrong with it. Bought for £650, And i know that these are worth £1200+. So plan is to keep it a few month, put minor bits and peices on it to make it abit better, then sell it on for profit. All goes towards insurance or car fund when im 17 to be able to drive.

Sorry to burst your bubble mate, but £650 is roughly what you pay for an average GTi
Go for and try and sell it for whatever you feel fit mate, i can only but give you luck
Not being a pain but i did pay £150 for the gti i broke.....

Nope you've not burst my bubble, thats actually a fair comment. I am actually going to sell it again in a few months to hopefully make a bit of profit but only time will tell, lol.
#38: Re: The 'boyracer's GTi. Author: Andy_VXR, Posted: Mon Feb 14, 2011 4:17 pm ---- If your going to sell on for profit, I would not mod it at all and just get things tidied up like new exhaust hangers. Juat going to be dead money overwise.
