Hiya, this is my first post. My battery went totally flat. When we tried to jump start, the engine spins over o.k. but will not fire. The Engine Diagnostics Amber light is on but I am not sure if that stays on until it fires up. It seems as if the immobaliser is staying on. Is there something that needs doing after having a totally flat battery before it will fire up.
Thanks for any help.

Could it be that the battery is just dead??

Buy a new on and try again.

EDIT: Scrap that, it cant be if the car turns over..

Hi Lee, its a 2000 on a "w". I've tried charging the battery on a new battery charger and the fuse in the charger blew as soon as it was switched on. Knackered ?? ( the battery not the charger ) It puzzles me because I managed to turn it over fairly quickly with jump leads on. If I put a New Battery on it should hopefully be o.k. ?
Thanks Christina X
