Manual headight adjustment

#1: Manual headight adjustment Author: Urban, Location: Preston, Lancs. PostPosted: Fri Feb 18, 2011 9:48 am

Fitted some standard crystal headlights back on my 180 (did have twin angels fitted by previous owner) but don't have the headlight adjuster motors yet so my lights are pointing straight at the ground and not really lighting up the road ahead.

I don't have a Haynes manual, so is it possible to adjust the dipped beam so I can actually see the road at night?

Also if I could manually adjust them, would I need to adjust them back again when I got the adjuster motors or wouldn't it matter?

Thank you in advance!

Mike

I think I might be right in saying that without having the adjuster in, the block piece in the light will just move around when you go over bumps and stuff so no matter if you align it with the car still it can still move because there is nothing to stop it (which the adjuster does).

Yeah you need an adjuster in, either a manual one or a electric one, as the ball and socket holds the lamp at the right angle

How do you remove the adjuster from the headlight as i am scared i will snap the ball joint and would have to buy another leveller?

Twist and pull, the arm is pretty fragile though.
