but it is dark and my torch is abit s**t so will have a better look in daylight if you don't suss it out

#19: Re: 206 HDI starting / cutting out problems Author: SDK206, Location: Earth, most of the time!!Posted: Mon Feb 28, 2011 3:13 pm ---- couldn't see sod all white connector wise on mine so im stumped to be honest, most are the normal grey and red connectors all over the engine!!
Have you had any joy from else where?
#20: Re: 206 HDI starting / cutting out problems Author: tezzie2007, Location: North YorkshirePosted: Tue Mar 01, 2011 11:09 am ---- Thanks for looking anyway.
Ive tried allsorts but still cant get it to fire. I really thought Id cured it after I found the fuel inertia switch and it worked but cannot seem to cure the problem now. Think it might be time to give up!
#21: Re: 206 HDI starting / cutting out problems Author: SDK206, Location: Earth, most of the time!!Posted: Tue Mar 01, 2011 11:52 am ---- Don't be daft mate its usually something obvious with these engines!!
So what I/we need to know is what its doing, is it turning over but not firing??
If so you will need to tell us if its getting fuel or not as thats a good way of ruling common faults out or not
#22: Re: 206 HDI starting / cutting out problems Author: tezzie2007, Location: North YorkshirePosted: Tue Mar 01, 2011 2:22 pm ---- Well it did fire up fine after restting inertia switch - I went for a good drive in it and all was well. Then a couple of days later wouldnt start at all. Its turning over fine but just not firing. Battery is fine, checked inertia switch again, check earth from gearbox and seems ok. Not sure what else to check????
Do you think it could be fuel pump or something? even though it seemed fine when it started other day.
The car occasionally fires when moving through gears whilst turning over if that means anything?
#23: Re: 206 HDI starting / cutting out problems Author: SDK206, Location: Earth, most of the time!!Posted: Tue Mar 01, 2011 2:46 pm ---- right, strange one really then mate because if it played up then ran now its stopped again, is there a chance the inertia switch itself is faulty??
I only ask as i have seen one or two go bad but i wouldn't like to give any more suggestions seen as i can't see the car for myself don't want to send you up the wrong path mentioning every part that could go wrong!!
Maybe worth full code read to start with
steve

I think I will probably look into a full code read.
