Not sure if this will help anyone else but will update a bit.

Picked up my new coil pack yesterday morning, took me 30 seconds to fit it and try it, and hey presto no change Mad

Read somewhere on the internet that one way of testing which cylinder is misfiring is to drip some water on the exhaust manifold branches then which ever branch the water doesnt evapourate off you have a problem with that cylinder.

The result was number 4 cylinder (closest to the camshaft sproket) taking much longer to to get rid of the water. Then i remembered reading on autodata that a common fault was that number 4 injector would fail due to water leaking onto it. So plan for tomorrow is to switch number 1 and 4 injectors around and then if the misfire follows the injector have a dodgey injector. If not i know i have a problem related to number 4 cylinder to investigate further.
