Failed MOT on Emissions
-> 206 Problems

#1: Failed MOT on Emissions Author: chris001, Location: Bournemouth PostPosted: Sat Feb 26, 2011 11:49 am

Hi guys, my girlfriends car failed its MOT today on emissions! Crying or Very sad
I'm guessing this is down to a faulty Cat as it sounded like it was breaking up (rattling a lot) over christmas so its not too much of a surprise. They guy at the garage also suspected a cat before i told him this. Just wondering wher the best (and also cheapest) place to buy a replacement cat as the prices vary a lot. I have a 2000 1.6 Maunal (206 obviously) GLX. I found the below:

www.cats-direct-shop.c...?ID=630520

I guess Im looking at the Euro Cat and the clamps. I already have some sealant. Is there anything else I need. Also I have found a cheaper cat on ebay but not sure if it the correct spec

Any help would be great. Need to get it sorted for the next test next weekend.
Chris

just incase you don't know mate, don't use exhaust paste on the joint at the front, just incase it goes inside the new cat and kills it Smile
