#1: best way to remove a seized nut (arb bush clamp nut)? Author: kit325, Location: London PostPosted: Wed Mar 02, 2011 6:00 pm

Replacement for my anti roll bar bushes just arrived this afternoon. Afther jacked up the car and removed both of the drop links, suddenly reliased that the clamp nuts are seized. I have tried by using antilock spray, wd40, hitting the spanner edge with plastic hammer and all failed. Is not a lot of working space underneath the car.

Just wonder any of you have any bright ideas to remove a seized nut easily? Any idea how much labour will a garage charge u just for arb bush replacement?

Cheers!

This, they are torqued up VERY tight and it can be a time consuming job.
A breaker bar makes it 10x easier.

If they're seized they can certainly be a problem because access is very limited. Could end up being a subframe off job.

here's the link

www.autogateway.co.uk

Great price, only £3 for a FAI bush. However, the delivery cost will be £6. Worth it if u have a few more things to buy from there. Another alternative apart from Euro car parts!

My local parts shop "Car Spares Factors" quote me for 8.50 just for a single bush (same brand). I didn't go for it because is a rip off.

I think the dealer is cheaper than that.

Problem solved! Both of the seized nut been romoved with a Breaker bar. After that just a 20 minuts job to replace those anti roll bar bushes. Is nice and quiete now for the ride. No more annoying knocking sound when driving again, cheers everyone!

PS: The main reason i didn't buy from the dealer mainly because is more convinient to get something posted to you especially when your car is causing problems.
