brake pads - metal clips...HELP!!!!

Ok so i'm replacing our brake pads, and the pads have them little metal clips on the top and bottom..... kinda like springs...

my question is though, how the hell do you put the new pad in with these on? i can't figure it out for the life of me.... sorry if i sound like a noob but this is really p**sing me off lol

WTF?

Anyway, put the pads in then you have to put the shims in with a hammer by tapping them in.Theyre a tight fit though mate.

Ahh right sorry.Are they the springs that fit on the side of the caliper? If so, put the pads into the carrier then rebolt the caliper to the carrier then put the anti rattle springs into the holes with a set of pliers.

ok i kind of get ya.... you don't by any chance have a diagram?

this is the worst brake pad change i have ever done lol....f****d one of the pistons and rounded off the brake disc screw lol....

they are not spings, they are curled metal clips. put them over the pad and tap them in with a hammer.

i thought they were clips...but i can't get the pads in with these on...they are the right pads, i ordered by reg number so they're the right ones...

Yeah they're a royal pain sometimes to get in, and are a pretty good tight fit! Just keep at it they WILL go in..

Have you cleaned up your caliper? If not give it a quick cleanover it may help free up some of the old dirt and allow the new pad to go into position abit easier Smile

on my old car i used to just put one in on each pad, and they fitted fine, never came off or broke.
