the heating in my 51 plate xsi has stopped working. its got a/c and when the blower is off it works but when you try to put the blower on it cuts off the rear demister still works aswell. iv takin it to a garage and the said it could be something to do with the ignition barrel is this common thanks?

Sounds like overload cutting it out???il check out some papets and respond on thursday evenin...doesnt sound like head gasket but it might be worth getting a gas in coolant test at a garage...about£35 unless u can blag them and wave the full head job under there nose so they feel sure its head fault then u say just to confirm before u do it...but be sure they show u the liquid in the test as its mixed and rested...if u r unfamiliar with this test its just a big suction tube with a test solution in it and they run the car and suck coolant from radiator/expansion tank and the two liquids mix and if engine gasses are present it turns blue or green...if it changes colour like that u need head doing.
