can be anything then. need to get a diagnostic reading on it. could be a sensor misread something and it's now corrected itself but the eml is still on as its flagged something up.

Is it the first time you've done a long/high speed journey in a while? Normally do short journeys?

Possibly a CAT related fault, as they tend to get clogged up a bit on short journeys then when you give them some hammer it triggers the light. Just get it read, and clear it and see if it returns.

Message for j4m1e re engine warning light. Not sure if you have solved this, but I recently had similar probably with my 206 and had only had the cat changed some 3 months ago. I took it to kwik fit they put it on diagnostic machine (for no cost) and advised it was coming up as cat problem. So took it back to garage and sure enough the cat was faulty, so they changed it (for no charge as still under warranty) and hey presto light went off. good luck.
My Pegeout 206 is a 2002 plate.
Cheers Jubidoo

Now could anyone help with this problem please. Following my 206 having cat replaced, the rpm display appears to be working backwards!!! I did not notice it at time of picking car up from its little op, but enroute home noticed it, so contacted said garage who advised "oh yes we noticed that and thought it was a bit strange"! Then gave me some reason that "sometimes the needle drops"??? I dont think its illegal to drive with faulty rpm display? And would anyone know how this happened and is it repairable and is it pricey?
Thanks

diagnostic test now complete its either ..... CO2 sensor or the Cat the guy said more likely to be the CO2 sensor as the Cat is pretty protected on the pug's Very Happy
