#1: Changing Front Brake Discs Author: ian206, Location: ReadingPosted: Fri Mar 11, 2011 10:14 am ---- Help... I have just spent this morning buying new pads and discs for my 55 reg 206 5dr with the idea to fit myself.. an easy job one might think.
I have been scuppered by a very strange looking 'star' type bolt which holds on the brake calliper surround. All the books/websites suggest that as standard hexagon bolt should be there.
Has anyone go a clue where I might find a socket to fit this? Or am I doing something wrong?

Maybe they changed the bolt's on the newer 206's as I know my 03 plate has normal hex head bolt's.?
Halfords will sell Torx BUT at a price.

you the right size. If no one tells you I will tonight as I have to race to work
#8: Re: Changing Front Brake Discs Author: Seabook, Posted: Fri Mar 11, 2011 11:29 am ---- torx is resistant towards rounding up. the reason you round up the torx are:
1) you using the wrong size
or
2) you didn't clean the torx head so that you can't put the whole heads in.
and evern you round up the torx, you can always hammer one size up/ use the allen key to take it out.
which is a lot better than rounded up a hex head/ allen head.

#12: Re: Changing Front Brake Discs Author: Edward, Location: In the garagePosted: Fri Mar 11, 2011 11:55 am ---- I just bought some new torx bolts for the front brakes on the other halfs 207CC. £7 for 8 bolt (I bought bolt for the rear too as they are smaller than the front and I don't like reusing them). The normal bolts are indestructable so I have no idea why they now fit torx bolts.
On the 207 the front bolts need a T55 bit.
