#1: Nic's 206 v6 (20v6) updated Author: Nic_206, Location: cleaning the car PostPosted: Fri Mar 11, 2011 6:56 pm

well as many of you will know by now its my car thats had the v6 conversion (first in the UK :D), well thought it was about time I made one of these as only a few members have seen the the car from the day I bought it upto the present day.

Well I bought the car in October 08', a month before my 17th birthday, I originaly wanted a 106 Gti and was on route too take a look at one when this caught my eye:

(the only picture i have as it stood then)
ok ok the stickers made it look slightley chav-tastic but it was the shape of it that mainly attracted me I liked the way the rear window sweeped up n genraly how slick it looked, a test drive later and I soon put down a deposit.

a week later i had a shiney cherry red pug on my drive and i quickly bought a new headunit and that was it, had plenty of ideas of what id like but I didnt know really were to get bits from or how to do many mods so i started looking on the good old tinterweb and found info's austrlian counter part lol (www.206gti.net) which was resonable with a few how to's after a quick read up i bought some Ministry of Sound front speakers and a pair of 6x9's a bargain at £40 and the sound was better then the standard speakers.

(neon light = face palm)
I then stumbled across 206info and then the modding bug bit me... and hard.

It opened me up to a whole new side of modding also many more how toos and a great load of new people and friends.

My to do list:

Lights Front and Rear
De-badge
lower
exhaust system
tidy engine bay up
new interior
alloys
colour code
sport bumpers

then i had 2 fails
bought some chrome lexus lights and i thought they looked the shizz Sad (todays tea has just come up to say hello) and some black angel eyes (problem they are h7 my plugs were h4 but after abit of a work i got them to work, also bought some spax lowering springs -40mm but i never got round to fitting them.

looking back now i wish i'd just bought Phase 2 rear lights Very Happy but it wasnt to be

then i foucusd my attention at getting my interior sorted so i bought some sprayed my interior plastics silver and found a gti interior on e-bay for £150, and soon fitted it felt a million miles better then the horrid trashy blue lx interior so was very pleased with the overall look that then inspirted me to by some rear speakers and I filled my boot with my subs.

best pic of the complete interior i could find

did a few little mods after that and later 206info died Sad I decided to give my self a deadline to have it looking the part by the time info was back running...

video of exhaust:

then I got ideas about my v6 after nearly turbo'ing it.. so off to the very capable hands of Gary Stone at CCC- Cleveland Car Conversions it went.

as she stands atm

I'm not sure on which rear lights to use:

my full tinted ones:

or these in this style which I have been having a mess around with? :

Ideas welcome ! let me know what you think!
to be continued...

How fast is it now you have a v6!? How much was your insurance with the new engine? I do like the cherry red 206's and yours looks quite tidy, I would go for smoked rear lights or phase 2's. Have you still got the same exhaust since the conversion?

It's such a shame that most of the cars that have interesting mechanical work done see to have awful 'styling' modifications. Standard kit is so much less tacky and home made looking.

As for those black rear lights, I've been behind a few cars with them and they seriously reduce the brightness of the lights.

You'll probably disagree, but I think putting the exterior back to completely standard would be best. V6 206 would make a wonderful sleeper.
