#1: Guide price for works. Author: Davels, Location: Norfolk PostPosted: Sun Mar 13, 2011 6:03 pm
    ----
I've seen the other "how much" topic on here regarding a cambelt change and the general thought is that it should come in anywhere from 230-300 quid if i'm lucky.
I'm also in need of a service how much do you guys pay on average. I could do most of it myself but I want the stamp in the book and the belts and brakes checking properly.

Finally after replacing the MAP sensor, Air Temp sensor, idle control valve, cleaning the throttle body and flushing the injectors with cleaner I think I'm going to have to replace the lifters, which i beleive may be causing my cold start juddering and 3 cylinder problems.

I have also heard that the hydraulic tappets are a problem too. Are the lifters/tappets the same thing? (sorry, not up on the finer workings of an engine)

The long and short of it is i think i need lifters and have no idea where to source them from, how much to pay and how much they cost to fit.

Can any one offer advice on this? If it's too much is it still worth getting it done if I'm still not 10% its the problems. I'm at a loose end now.
