Fuel Cap

i cant get it off, fuel light is on so went to fill up (been a while) and the key just wont turn in the barrel on the cap. what can i do? only got 1 key and both me and the bf have turned the key as hard as we can without risking the key snapping!

HELP i need petrol Sad home now but wont go far till it runs out x

tried wd40 inside the barrel?

bit of wd40, pull key in and out few times and try twist full cap at same time if you can.

It'll be frozen. Mine does it all the time. WD40 used to work for me, but it doesn't now Sad

yeah that happened to me other day. i have put my key in boiling water for few sec n then put key in and it worked lol!

A kettle of boiling water on the outside of the cap works evrytime for me even when it reaches -12 here!!!

Sometimes I have used a lighter to heat the blade of the key up and then tried it in the lock, sometimes it takes a couple of goes.

I only have one key and its a real pain!

thanks guys! i was scared i wernt gonna get home! i looked like a right idiot getting out in texaco going to the petrol pump standing there wiggling for agggeeesss! then getting back into the car n driving away (still with no fuel) lol x

yep some people swear by it other think its tosh but as far as im aware it is a fairly popular lubricant
