the cap on the expansion chamber seems to weep when hot is the cap is knackered or is the system to pressurised also rad doesn't seem to get hot

First step is to renew the cap, the seal is probably u/s.

1 ordered could that be the reason rad is not very warm and also no heater

One reason for cool rad is that the thermostat is stuck open, or opening too soon.......new thermostat needed if this is the case.

if thermostat stuck would rad fan kick in and out as fan seems to come on at a drop of a hat
