#1: Air con/climate control Author: Swardy, Location: CambridgePosted: Tue Mar 22, 2011 1:26 pm ---- guys, wondering if you could help me. My air con used to make a funny noise when it first started but then stop once it kicked in. Well, it's now making that noise all the time. It's sort of a higher pitched fan sound, like it has asthma.
Is this simply that the air con needs topping up? that wouldn't surprise me as I've owned it 3 and a half years and never done it, and god knows if anyone did it before me!
Also, anyone used this air con cleaner stuff? Is it worth the 12 quid halfrauds charge?

its probably the blower motor starting to become worn

It sounds more like the interior fan. However, as soon as i put it on "eco" mode (i.e. turn the air con off) it stops making the noise.
