#1: brake fluid reseviour/master cylinder seal gone? Author: mike_3112, Location: YorkPosted: Sat Mar 26, 2011 10:33 am ---- just changed the front pads, took the lid off the reseviour... couldnt find a G clamp to push the plunger back in so i put a used pad over the plunger and smacked it with a hammer... whoopsie... couldnt shift it so hit it harder. having not been able to move it i looked harder for a g clamp i found one, changed the pads straight forwardly. took the car for a spin and when i brake there's a hiss from passenger side, parked up, looked under and the bottom was wet with fluid, investigated and saw between the reseviour and cylinder there's a leak so am guessing my hammering moment blew the seal?
anyone know where i can get one or if they have any ideas to the problem if it isnt what i think?
with the engine off the brakes go hard so guesssing there's no holes in the pipes
