that was a good read Smile dont want to sound like a p***k, but.... wont all that audio equipment be a little heavy, making all the money on new cams pointless.

planning on filling it all smooth and then spray it the same as it is now

i had the car stripped the other month when putting in the wires took it for a spin and it made no difference 0-100 so decided to have my audio i have always wanted, i might change my mind down the road but i need it a usable daily with the kids etc

if i was to just have a hu i would strip and cage it so this is the most practical option for now and what i want

little update got a new head unit which is capable of powering my system i have been running the old kenwood for 4 years

i went for the pioneer 9300sd
i got it mainly for the 3 hi volt pre outs but the sd and usb compatability was the decider no more changing CDs

also got some new plain number plates and some black surrounds/holders

next on the list was going to be coilovers and uprated torsion and ARB but had to get rid of the 406 estate so the 206 is now the family car lol

so this year brakes upgraded with drilled and groved discs and performance pads and braided hoses fitted

hopefully ill get the rest of the audio install finished this year just time being the issue

next year im hoping TB's

the exhaust was starting to anoy my g/f so i decided to get a decibel reducer for the centre pipe

took half hr to fit and made an instant difference to the drone that my exhaust makes
so now i have 3 decibel reducers in total 1 2.5in in the centre and one 2in in each tailpipe, the ones in the tail pipe dont do much as there not in enough to work properly but i will be changing the tail pipes soon as there starting to look tatty

i will have 2 sets as there just univeral tips that bolt on so will have one with the decibel reducers and one without keeping the centre one in as its far to loud with out any, people who went to fcs last year might have herd

next few weeks im hoping to finally get braided hoses on and tracking as ive run down the outside edge on the front tyres

they took a month but that was with working could have done them in 2 weeks with all day on them,

would that be a problem having 4 amps 75rms per chanel on one 4gauge wire with a splitter using 8 gauge

2weeks, by any chance are you paralyzed lol ... Nice alloys tho

little update

got some goodies through the post

the flexi pipe was reluctantly bought as the manifold has cracked due to the stress from only having one 2bolt flange to take all the movement,
luckily its on the inside where the gasket goes so i just stuck some putty in there to help keep it in place for now

i will take more pics when i come to install the flexi pipe which i will be welding in myself (first time using a welder) could go wrong as yet but if it does im sure exhaust clamps will suffice

the hoses were stainless steel without any covering on them so i got some silicone based tape to wrap them in to stop rust etc added precaution

will give these a go myself as i know the fronts will be easy, the rears on the other hand im dreading

had a busy sunday last week got my wing back so i fitted that with some flieye tint for the morrets and fog

before

after

it has been 3 years since the wing was damaged so its nice to see a whole car

i think the morrets look lots better as my car doesnt suit much chrome

also got on with fixing the exhaust up, my friend with the welder was out so i had to bodge it for the time being with some paste which has not blown yet fingers crossed

with adding the flexi pipe i ended up with the exhaust 4inch longer so the middle rubber didnt line up right so i cut some out and sleved it, while i was on i did the same near the backbox as it seamed to need twisting so this gave me more to play with

its a bit messy at the mo but in the end i have an exhaust which sits stright for once(pics once its clean)

this week i have bought some eibach springs and weitec dampers with new drop links and wishbones

when i do this im hoping to remove the manifold to weld up the part that cracked off inside the flange which i have a new gaskett on the way

Just read this thread from beginning and i have to say the colour is epic!!! By far the best colour Smile

I have one question tho as i was a little baffled.......

U have recently had it mapped with cams, raceland mani, exhaust and filter.

It only made just under 150bhp?? I don't know if i have been a little nieve but i would have thought that it would have produced more with those mods. Only asking as there similar mods to
Mine and future plans.

Cheers

Dave

DONKEYDING

yeah i was a little dissapointed with the gains but i think thays because companies over estimate gains ie viper induction syas 10bhp and exhaust said 10% thats nearly 25 imaginary bhp already

i guess from air filter pnp tb exhaust i would have gained about 3-5bhp then the cams and re-map did the 8-10 bhp

you got to remember the cams are only a re-profile without needing vernier pullys on standard timing so there not massively different from standard but enough for the time being

it is still fun to drive in all gears so i wouldnt say money wasted but if you want the power get throttle bodies as that will give you 180 atleast but at a cost of 2k ish for the kit

i spent 700 on cams followers timing belt water pump and fitting so they were the cheaper option to nearly 2k for bigger cams needing a stand alone ecu
