#1: ushers track project fully stripped and trimmed Author: usher, Location: northallerton PostPosted: Sat Mar 26, 2011 3:21 pm
    ----
here is my 206 gti
i got the car with 31k on the clock full service history for £3.200
here is what it looked like the day i got it

it was completly standard not even a spoiler

my first mod was some ultra rear lights then it snowballed with already having an ok sound system steering wheel and alloys

over the last few years i have done the following

Exterior
SP arch extensions
180 rear bumper black exhaust trim
GTI Spoiler
Phase 2 boot strip
Zunsport grill
Gloss black bump strips
Gloss black pillar covers
Badgless grill
Black led indicators
Black vinyl roof
Window tints
Seat cupra spliter
Rear tinted fog and 3rd brake light
Valo smoked rear lights
Morette headlights
flyeye headlight tint
passanger fog as cold air feed

engine
Piper cams re-profile
Piper cam followers
Raceland manifold
Sports CAT
Cat back exhaust system (jetex/simons) twin exit
Port and polished throttle body
Ekotech valve
Pipercross induction kit(cold air feed from fog)
RS tuning remap
Colour coded and smoothed rocker cover

chassis
17” wolfrace street octane alloys colour coded
eibach lowerign springs
weitech dampers
Torsion bar lowered to match
180 ARB
Bilstein rear dampers
Brembo calipers with 180 discs
15mm Spacers

Interior
SP car mats
Momo jet steering wheel
2x Edge 12” subwoofers
Edge amp 4x75
4x component in parcel shelf
vibe wiring
Sound proofing
Boss amp 2x250
Colour coded centre console and air vents
Interior carpet changed to black

i will let some pics do the talking

the wheels were refurbed by myself and my G/F here are some pics

it was not a cheap as i was hoping (£200) but well worth it

work i have been doing this last week or 2 is stripping out the interior
before i started

and stripped

the reason for this was to run amp and speaker wires through the car under the carpet, im planning 3 in each front door card bigger ones in the rear door cards 2x12in subs in the boot 10in in the passanger footwell hopefully, also 4 in the parcel shelf i just need to finish the fibreglassing, with having our 2nd baby on the way in the next few weeks this may not be finished for a while lol but atleast all the wiring is done
while i was on i changed the carpet from grey to black which looks 100x better

wires

i will have more pics tomorrow as i will be finishing off the boot, i have put an mdf floor down with carpet underlay and carpet (black) ontop as the origional carpets were looking tatty, as a nice side effect it reduced the noise from the exhaust alot.

update
finished off neatening the wires got them set up for one amp as not got the speaker holes for the other amps yet, also put the black facia round the hu

Looks nice mate

Just got one question about the audio

Please do not tell me that live wire is your main wire to all 4 amplifiers at a guess

Lush alloys, how long did they take? Icing on the exterior imo Smile

they took a month but that was with working could have done them in 2 weeks with all day on them,

would that be a problem having 4 amps 75rms per chanel on one 4gauge wire with a splitter using 8 gauge

Please get 0 gauge instead, 4 gauge off 4 amps is a fire hazard IMO

Plus you dont need 6 door speakers, it will completely over the power the rear

one of the speakers wont be doing much in the door card anyway as it will be between the origional speaker and the pocket at the back of the door card more for looks

well it would have gone to plan if my cam followers wernt nackered so i am currently waiting for some new ones from piper to arrive then i can get the car back togeher, also on removing the cam belt i was told there was a amall nut which had been rubbing on the belt trapped under the cover so its a good job i was getting it done
they also noticed the aux bel tensioner is warn but should be ok for a while
hopefully i will have the car back sometime next week

on a plus side me and my gf have had a baby boy on tues both doing well, baby no2 and last lol
