I am not a frequent user of the A/C since but i know that it must be used to keep in good working condition so yesterday i switched it on but it seems to make no effect :S
with fan and a/c there is no difference and even the engine, when i usually switch on the a/c it immediately feels different in revs but yesterday nothing happed...

what do you think is the issue?

thanks

No gas? Fuse? Broken wire?

1. Check fuse.
2. Check the fan wires behind the front bumper (mine has corroded and needs to be respliced)
3. Get a reputable company to re-gas it.

IIRC if you dont use the aircon it seizes up because they are self lubricating.

So if you dont use it it seizes.

Could be wrong though, either way it probably needs to go to a someone who knows what their doing.

I heard that the a/c needs to be on one a week for a 5-10mins to keep the gas or it just disappears. Thing is the wife was not good at doing it when she had the car and now I have to re-gas again Sad

I`m going gb to get my system checked over before regassing to make sure there is no corrosion on it or it would be a waste pointless topping up.

Sounds to me like its out of gas. The AirCon system on most cars has a built in protection system which will shut the system down completely if the gas pressure gets to low. Getting it regassed should sort it and as mentioned previously the system is self lubricating so should be regularly run. The manual advises 5-10 minutes monthly although to be honest as mine has the auto aircon system its left permanently on as i personally find it makes little difference to fuel consumption
