Can I just pop into a dealership and casually mention it and they will offer or am I gonna have to hammer them until they agree to sort it?

Don't get too excited guys, unless your car has a full Peugeot service history & you can jump through all the other hoops they throw at you, you've got more chance getting a **** of the pope!!
In short, it ain't gonna happen.

What He Said Most dealers do an annual paint inspection with the service so they can get the problems early on. Wish it was true though as I could do with the seams in the engine bay redoing as a bit of rust is coming through.

and to be fair 12 years is nothing at all. mine only has mininium rust at the bonnet catch and rear boot (under the rear boot glass)

can't see any other area which has rust!
