My car had a recon box fitted 6 months ago at a cost of 950 notes.
Its been fine but now its making a noise when you bring your foot off the accelerator at the top of each gear. And the end plate is leaking.
I took it back today and they told me it was just a noisey gearbox bla bla bla and that there was nothing wrong with the box. He said it was just 'tinging' and to bring it back if it gets worse.
I wasnt convinced as the 6 month warrenty runs out tomorrow. He didnt seem like the kind of guy to go back on his word but just wondered if anyone had any suggestions or ideas what it actually was.

#2: Re: 206 GTI 180 Gearbox Problems - HELP Author: L5_UKS, Location: West MidlandsPosted: Tue Mar 29, 2011 4:11 pm ---- Be careful mate i had a recon one fitted and it started making that noise so went back to them and they said it was the engine mounts, so had them done then about a month after they fitted the box it went again, so its now currently back with them getting a new box put in, im just glad it went within the warranty.
