Both don't work. Bulbs are fine, fuse is fine. any ideas?

Oh and the dash still shows the symbol so the bsi should be getting the signal.

Wiring to the bulb, or bulb holder

The reason they may have gone is because When I changed them I left a platic film over one of the bulbs. Although I would have though it would only cause an issue with that particular one?

Any particular part of the wiring? How easily can I get to it as I don't know where the wires go to.

How could it be the holder?

Test for +12volts going to the bulb, if there is, then you've got a earthing problem.

If there isn't, then there's a break in the wiring from the bsi to the fog somewhere.

If the light is coming on, on the dash, then its a dodgy wire somewhere.

Don't they work since you changed the bulbs?

You sure you fitted them right? As the earth wire connects to the bulb holder which connects to the 'frame' on a h1 bulb

thanks for the :info:

No sorry I changed them for some whiter bulbs and they worked for a few weeks. Replaced them since then.

I fitted them right. However I am pretty sure last time I changed then when they were working the bulbs were on without them being in the holder :s

I will check for voltage if I can find my tester Very Happy

The 'spade' on the bottom is the positive
The semi circle thing that sticks out, is the earth

maybe I was touching it on something then that caused it to earth. Although I have tried them in the holders so I think I best check for power.

Bit off topic but seen as I have your attention lee; How can my rear wiper still work when I pulled the fuse? I am Sure its the right one as I checked my handbook for the fuse number.

Pulled the wrong fuse then.

When I took the fuse out of Matt's it didn't work at all

Fuse 11, 15amp, its a mini fuse

While you've got the multimeter out, probe the rear wiper.

Should have 3 wires, a +12, a stop command wire coming from the other side of the motor and a earth.

See if voltage is still going to pin 2 [stop command] when you turn the wiper on. This wire comes from the BSI

cheers. will do. Just tried the fuser again. Its also a 10amp for some reason. Put the bulbs in again, one worked then after i put the other in they both stopped. Going to check the fuse for that too and take the other bulb out again. Your helpfulness amazes me lee Very Happy
