#17: Re: GTI wont start. Author: punk, Location: BrumPosted: Fri Apr 08, 2011 6:44 pm ---- If it is the immobiliser shouldn't the display read immobiliser fault

The display's a bit dodgey and doesnt work.

If the ECU doesn't see this signal, it wont send thee firing signals to the Spark plugs or the injectors.
The sensor is close to the oil filter and sometimes wont give out fault codes if its defective/not plugged in.

Would this stop the fuel pump from priming as well?
#21: Re: GTI wont start. Author: leigh_boy, Location: EastbournePosted: Sat Apr 09, 2011 1:47 pm ---- if the fuel pump is not priming there is a relay that controlls lots of different things big black 1 under the ecu its about £40 for pug or u could get 1 from a breakers and will probabbly fix the fault.
#22: Re: GTI wont start. Author: Edward, Location: In the garagePosted: Sat Apr 09, 2011 2:40 pm ---- The big relay is about £15.
#23: Re: GTI wont start. Author: LeeThr, Location: North West WalesPosted: Sun Apr 10, 2011 12:48 pm ---- Does the big relay control the digital heater control as well?
i bought 1 about 2 years ago now becuae mine packed up and im sure i paid about 35 / 40 from pug, then again might be talking about something different.
Does the big relay control the digital heater control as well?
The heaters only blow when the engine is running, but they cam be adjusted without the engine running.
The crankshaft sensor wouldn't affect fuel pump priming.

I know they only run with the engine running, I mean the whole control unit has gone dead so you cant adjust it. Im asking if its that big relay that controls that as well?
