#18: Re: ECU,BSI, and keys and barrel ring...... Need assitance : Author: punk, Location: BrumPosted: Wed Apr 06, 2011 4:11 pm ---- I think I may have to get Lee out... iv read his sticky, sounds like he knows what he is talking about, tbh, I'd rather have the immobiliser cut.
#19: Re: ECU,BSI, and keys and barrel ring...... Need assitance :( Author: Seabook, Posted: Wed Apr 06, 2011 4:39 pm ---- Lee is the legand in 206info
#20: Re: ECU,BSI, and keys and barrel ring...... Need assitance :( Author: punk, Location: BrumPosted: Thu Apr 07, 2011 7:06 am ---- I hope so! I have spent almost £700 on fixing this problem, I am at Witts end, if this don't fix it the car will probably be scrapped! I'm going to drop him a text, see what he says.

Wires that are leading to the ECU
And what happens when i attempt to start the car ( usually says, " Engine immobiliser fault" )
#22: Re: ECU,BSI, and keys and barrel ring...... Need assitance :( Author: Lee, Location: EnglandPosted: Fri Apr 08, 2011 12:24 pm ---- That says economy mode
Get the battery tested
#23: Re: ECU,BSI, and keys and barrel ring...... Need assitance :( Author: punk, Location: BrumPosted: Fri Apr 08, 2011 12:51 pm ---- lol, The battery is brand new, it went into economy mode because i was sitting in there fiddling with my phone listening to the radio, so my bad, but it was just to illustrate the sound when i start the car up. The second video was showing the ECU and the wires n stuff...now that 'iv got you mate, did you get my text regarding the postcode?
#24: Re: ECU,BSI, and keys and barrel ring...... Need assitance :( Author: Lee, Location: EnglandPosted: Fri Apr 08, 2011 12:58 pm ---- Oh yeah, I thought I replied. Just need to check on the removal with it be CANBUS, as I don't want it to cause conflicts in the BSI
#25: Re: ECU,BSI, and keys and barrel ring...... Need assitance :( Author: punk, Location: BrumPosted: Fri Apr 08, 2011 1:01 pm ---- Awesome, let me know of any details you may need. You have no idea of how relived I am, been without the car since a week after i brought it.
Ps, I have no idea what CANBUS is......
#26: Re: ECU,BSI, and keys and barrel ring...... Need assitance :( Author: Lee, Location: EnglandPosted: Sat Apr 09, 2011 2:59 am ---- Got some major bad news, multiplexing strikes again
You can't just cut the wires on the ecu like you can with the other ones, as it will corrupt the ECU.
You have to get the dump from the flash 29F200, and remove the coding which at the minute I don't have the hardware to do
Sorry.
I'd change the aerial for the cost of a tenner
#27: Re: ECU,BSI, and keys and barrel ring...... Need assitance :( Author: punk, Location: BrumPosted: Sat Apr 09, 2011 4:17 am ---- b******s, If I change the aerial and that does not work, what would be the next step? Would my initial plan of changing everything work?
#28: Re: ECU,BSI, and keys and barrel ring...... Need assitance :( Author: Lee, Location: EnglandPosted: Sat Apr 09, 2011 4:37 am ---- If changing the aerial doesn't work. Then yeah you would need to change everything, which you can buy sets off places like eBay for about £100-130.
Do you have a spare key? Could try using that instead, as your main key might be faulty
#29: Re: ECU,BSI, and keys and barrel ring...... Need assitance :( Author: punk, Location: BrumPosted: Sat Apr 09, 2011 4:57 am ---- Unfortunately i do not have a spare key, I'm going to change the Transponder aerial this week and will see how it goes, Lee, May need your help in identifying the correct parts, I'm pretty good with mechanical stuff, but electrical stuff is not my strong point.
