Did he change the BSI?

If he says no. Ask him what Eeprom he edited for the immobilser Wink

If he doesn't say FLASH 29F200, then he's a liar because thats where the immobilser is in a 2.0 GTi mux

Got the car back today, the battery is completely drained, and the problem has not been solved, the only saving grace is that i wasn't charged anything. My local scrap yard has just called me telling me they have 206cc 2.0 2003 ecu ect. So im going to go down tommorow and pick it up. he wants £115 but should be able to haggle down to 80 because i know him.

also Lee could i swap the stuff over myself? Or do you think i should get someobody to do it? The bsi unit, does it just unclip?

I asked him about what you asked me Lee and he had no idea he just said hed changed them over and they didn't work. I get the feeling he changed it incorrectly ie from the wrong car.

Also, sorry Lee, I just found out that injector No1 is not correctly working. ( had the diagnostic done a few days ago and forgot to mention) could that be any kind of influence? When the car does start it seems to run fine.

An injector fault shouldn't cause an immobilser problem.

Yeah you could change them over yourself, normally just a few screws and clips.

If he just swapped over the ECU, without anything else or editing the immobiliser coding, then the car wouldn't start and you'd defiantly have the immobilser problem.

When you get the new ecu, bsi, etc. Try and get the vin number as well, for future reference incase you need any keys coding to the car or what to change some settings in the BSI.

The guy who did the diagnostic, Said he couldn't get into the ECU and did an diagnostic on other systems ( hence the Injector fault) would it be a fair suggestion to say there must be a fault either between the BSI unit by the footwell and the ECU or the ECU itself?

This really needs scanning with Peugeot Planet Wink

The 206 uses the engine ecu to diagnose injector problems. As you have to connect to that to find the faults.

It has been mate. As i said im not great with electronics ect, The guy who did my diagnostic was defiantly using Peugeot plant software as i was in the car with him when he was using it. He was unable to get into the ECU to check the faults. However that being said, he said to me that he was able to check other systems by going to them " around about way" and that he got to them " The way round" or am i being had? He plugged it into the bsi ( bottom right hand corner by right knee"

To test using Peugeot Planet, you plug the laptop in the diagnositc port in the fuse box, then you can either run a global test and scan every ecu in the car, or test by each ecu. Either way, the only way he's going to get an injector fault is by accessing the engine ecu

Unless, he manually tested the injectors using a multimeter.

No, he only used the Diagnostic. So what do you think then, do you think he was having me on? He couldn't get into the ECU the loading bar wouldn't move.

I mean he is telling me he couldn't get into the ECU in the engine ( the main one) yet told me that hes found an injector fault which can only be found by acsessing the ecu...Total mind foooook

If you cant access the engine ecu with peugeot planet, its says something like this....

PP2000 cannot communicate with ECU, ECU not configured

I think, but dont quote me on it,.....he's talking bollox

YES! Your right Lee im not 100% sure but i am 80% sure that that is what it said or words rto that effect....now that you mentioned it.

So that would suggest there is nothing wrong with the Injector then. Or that he was making it up

I just can't think how you can access the injectors without getting into the ecu Confused

If it said that, then the ecu is either faulty, or its not unlocking when you turn the ignition on....hence immobilser fault

I Have the same problem with a 2002 model. I had it scanned and the mech took out my fuel/ignition relay from under the ecu and had me replace it with a used one......the car started as before. Maybe you could get one from a scrap yard an try it out. The vehicle had a collision on the same right rear as yours.
