Axle Stands

Ok, i managed to get axle stands under the front subframe ONCE while doing the brake pads (thats all sorted now thanks btw guys)...

I'm now patching the exhaust, but i can't seem to get it up high enough anymore using the side jacking points and wanting to put the axle stands under the front subframe again..... am i safe to just jack it up on the side, then support it about an inch away with an axle stand then go under???? or are there any other points where i can put them near by??

Thanks

Rob

Not sure why it won't go high enough this time, but I sometimes have to get a bit if extra height by putting the jack on an old slab or wood. Might be worth checking the oil level in the jack as well.

I het a few planks of wood park the car and jack, then jack it up and feels like a standard height car.

had this idea given to me by a garage when they had a car so low they could put it on a ramp for MOT, So they found some bit of wood and eventually got it on there lol Smile

probably not the "CORRECT" way, but the cars up and safe atm so i dont car lol

i have been under doing exhaust today with loads of room, and have done exhausts with just one jack with plenty of room too.
