#1: biting point Author: karimali831, Location: EnglandPosted: Thu Apr 14, 2011 3:57 am ---- Is it possible to get a larger biting point without buying a new clutch as mine is very small? Also I want to be able to get biting point at a relatively low level, mine is quite high.
Do I need new clutch or can I just adjust by pulling a cable or something? I am not sure how clutches work but I'm assuming it is like a bike brake, cable stretches and point of impact gets higher?

The thing with 206's is when it does need a clutch kit ONLY fit one of the following 3 brands:
LUK
Sachs
Valeo
It doesnt matter which of those 3 you fit, there all decent.
As for the cable Peugeot / Citroen part number 2150 EF Clutch cable £32.33

basically my biting point annoyingly feels like only 1 inch, any higher the car starts to make a "rumbling" sound then a little higher it eventually stalls, it doesn't sound too healthy. I'm just hoping it is not a engine possibility because this costs alot.
So I'm looking for two things with the clutch.
1) Lower biting point
2) Larger biting point
I'm really hoping it is cable if it does cost around £30, how much will labour cost approx?

Obviously the costly ones being better quality but to what extent?
is it worth spending £50-80 more ? what ever one I choose will be brand new anyway.

Pay the money for better quality.

A cheap one is always a risk.

#15: Re: biting point Author: karimali831, Location: EnglandPosted: Fri Apr 15, 2011 9:18 am ---- okk went to halfords autocenter, they said it is the gearbox and they sounded confident it was it. the gearbox causes the car to ruddle while engaging the clutch. garage 1 says it is clutch causing ruddling... garage 2 says it is probably the oil in the clutch and will soon come off.
new gearbox quote around £500, I laughed. Got the got for almost that price.
pathetic if I did spend that much and it was not the issue.
so getting different feedback from different mechanics... annoyed. >.<
